Why Roadmap?

Why Roadmap?

Your GPS has no signal and you have complicated route to get to your destination. It’s a very unfamiliar area. It’s getting quite dark. What are you going to do? You better hope that you or somebody traveling with you has a map and knows how read it. You first have to figure out where you are and where your destination is on the map. From there you’ll draw out a route to get there and manage to get there despite the GPS malfunctioning.

One could say running for office is a lot like this. Even if you’re a great a candidate, you’re going to need a team that understands how to map out victory. You’re going to need a team that will know how to adjust the route. That’s what a good grassroots campaign will do. They understand how to turn regular people into political rock stars. They understand realistically that manpower and resources it’ll take to get it done.

The old school way of campaigning is just accepting the status quo rules and status quo electorate. It doesn’t attempt to build a movement of any kind. It caters to the system. In order to change the system and make it fair for all people, we must embrace a different style of campaigning. Campaigning must be more authentic and rely on an organic grassroots connection.

Field (also known as ground game) drives everything in the new school approach. Who you have to engage will determine which dynamics the candidate or cause will have to focus on in order to reach the win number. This is how transformational movements are built. Shock waves are sent through the ground. This requires a bold innovative message that inspires the people. It can be values based or ideologically based. The bottom line is that the story must resonate with people who must be engaged. Without this form of campaigning, there would have been no election of Maynard Jackson as Mayor in 1973 or Barrack Obama as President in 2008. This approach must be followed at every level in order to achieve success. Roadmap Advisors puts those ideals into action and guides candidates through the nuanced terrain of political campaigns.
